Glass Track Install.

Parts: Ordered from glass shop by giving measurements of opening.  Be sure to request the metal wheels.  Some come with plastic and they do not roll as nice.

2 doors (1/4 inch laminate) "W" channels, wheel guides, spacers and door pulls.

"W" track, guides and spacers.

What the bottom of a real slider looks like...

Place "W" channel in bottom of opening and mark for drilling mounting holes.  You do not need very many.  This example was a 22 inch opening and I only used 3 screws.

"W" channel screwed into place for bottom track.  Counter sunk or button head screws are acceptable as long as you keep them centered in the track.  The wheel guides will fit over them.

Drop in wheel guides.

Mount upper "W" channel in the same manner with screws.  There are no wheel guides for the upper track.  The white spacers act as guides on the glass for the upper track.

With the spacers put on, insert the doors.  First the top, then rest the bottom on the guide.  The wheels will sit on the guide and roll smoothly without friction.

Apply the stick on door pulls and a "display lock" and you are finished.

Keep in mind that this application is for a display for a small or medium sized animal.  Because the doors are secured by their own weight and a small groove in the wheel, this is not a suitable setup for a large constrictor.  The largest application I have used these on is a 44 inch wide by 24 inch tall cage for a ball python.  They are also not cheap.  The doors in this sample were $75 for an opening that measured about 22x17 inches.

However, they look fabulous and for my chondro display cages they are a must.
